Carolina Home Performance Inc. began in 2009 with the goal of helping homeowners and builders retrofit or build their homes sustainably, efficiently, and affordably.

For existing homes our process of evaluating, recommending cost effective improvements, and assisting with the implementation of the recommendations, is the most efficient way to improve your homes comfort, efficiency, and safety.

For new homes we work with the builder from the design phase to the time the keys are turned over to the homeowner. We'll help you plan to meet energy efficient and/or green building guidelines.

President - Matt Marshall
Matt has been in construction since the age of ten when he began working for his dad installing insulation in homes. It was not the ideal way for a boy to spend his summers but looking back the lessons learned were invaluable. After high school he went on to attend North Carolina State University and earned a degree in Construction Engineering and Management. Matt then worked in residential construction as a project manager overseeing construction schedules, subcontractors, and dealing with building officials. During this time he became interested in green and sustainable construction and went on to become a LEED Accredited Professional. That is when Matt began to see the potential for energy savings in existing homes as well. The idea led to Matt attending training to become a RESNET HERS Rater, BPI Building Analyst, and NAHB Green Verifier. In his free time Matt enjoys spending time with family and friends.
